Hailey Bieber Donates $20K to Eric Dane’s Family Fundraiser Following Actor’s Death
In the wake of actor Eric Dane’s death after a long battle with ALS, a wave of support has emerged from friends, colleagues and Hollywood figures — including a significant contribution from Hailey Bieber.
Dane, who died on February 20 at the age of 53, left behind his wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, and their two teenage daughters. In response to the family’s sudden loss, close friends organized a GoFundMe campaign aimed at providing long-term financial stability, particularly for the education and future needs of the couple’s children.

According to the fundraising page, Bieber donated $20,000 toward the $500,000 goal. As of this week, more than $283,000 has been raised from over 2,300 donors.
Sam Levinson and Others Step Forward
Among the contributors is Sam Levinson, creator of the hit HBO series Euphoria, who donated $27,000 alongside his wife, Ashley Levinson.
The fundraiser describes Dane as a devoted husband and father whose daughters, Billie and Georgia, were “the center of his world.” It also highlights his advocacy work following his ALS diagnosis, noting that he became a passionate voice within the ALS community even as his own health declined.
“Following his diagnosis, Eric became a passionate spokesperson for the ALS community, using his voice and platform to advocate for fellow patients and to push for greater awareness,” the page reads.
Friends say the progression of Dane’s illness was far more aggressive than anticipated, prompting the creation of the fundraiser to ensure his daughters’ futures remain secure.
A Legacy Beyond the Screen
Best known for his roles in television dramas and his commanding on-screen presence, Dane’s career spanned decades in Hollywood. Yet those closest to him have emphasized that his most meaningful role was that of father and husband.
The GoFundMe message closes with a note of gratitude: “Any contribution, no matter the size, will help provide stability during this incredibly difficult time and in the future for Eric’s wonderful daughters. Thank you.”
The outpouring of support underscores the impact Dane had beyond his acting career — not only as a performer, but as a figure who used his platform to shed light on ALS, a devastating neurodegenerative disease that continues to affect thousands of families worldwide.
He is survived by Gayheart and their two daughters.
