Tragedy on U.S. 281: Passenger in Motorcycle Crash Identified

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman fatally injured in a November 23 motorcycle crash on the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 near Encino Rio on San Antonio’s North Side.

The victim, Heather Woods, 51, died from cranial cerebral injuries, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, which ruled her death an accident.

The crash occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. when, according to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department, the motorcycle experienced a tire blow-out. That caused the driver to lose control and crash. Woods was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver was taken to hospital for treatment.
