AC Milan Explores Move for Barcelona Striker Robert Lewandowski in January

AC Milan is reportedly targeting Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski for the upcoming January transfer window as they look to strengthen their attack. According to SportItalia and SPORT, Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri is eager to bring the veteran striker to San Siro, aiming to solve Milan’s inconsistency in front of goal. Lewandowski, renowned for his goal-scoring ability and leadership, tops Allegri’s wish list.

However, despite Milan’s interest, a January move for Lewandowski seems unlikely. The Polish striker is committed to his contract with Barcelona, which runs until 2026, and has expressed a desire to stay, even if it means accepting a reduced role within the team.

Barcelona, already facing financial challenges under Financial Fair Play rules, would struggle to replace Lewandowski in the winter market, making a mid-season departure complicated. As a result, Milan may need to revisit the situation next summer, when Lewandowski’s contract could expire, and he might be available on a free transfer.

Lewandowski, for his part, has made it clear he is open to staying at Barcelona for at least one more year. However, should the club decide against extending his stay, Milan is one of the frontrunners for his signature, with discussions already underway between Milan officials and Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi.
