Trump Criticizes Rob Reiner’s Death Amid Widespread Backlash

President Donald Trump has faced sharp criticism after making controversial remarks about the death of Hollywood director Rob Reiner, a frequent critic of the president. Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday. Their son, Nick, has been arrested on suspicion of their murders.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump acknowledged the deaths as “very sad” but continued his criticism of Reiner, calling him “very bad for our country” and claiming Reiner’s death was linked to “Trump derangement syndrome.” Trump’s remarks were condemned by both political opponents and members of his own party.

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican, called the president’s comments “inappropriate and disrespectful” for politicizing the brutal murders. “This is about a family tragedy, not political enemies,” said Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, also distancing herself from Trump’s remarks.

Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana suggested that Trump should have stayed silent, adding that such comments detract from his policy achievements.

Reiner, known for films like A Few Good Men, had long criticized Trump. The investigation into his death continues, with no evidence linking the murders to his political views.
