Kenan Thompson Sued Over Alleged Lease Breach in Los Angeles Rental Dispute

Kenan Thompson is being sued by a Los Angeles landlord who claims the Saturday Night Live star breached a residential lease agreement and now owes more than $34,000.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the landlord alleges Thompson signed a 12-month lease in September for a three-bedroom rental property with monthly rent set at $10,250, beginning October 1. The landlord claims Thompson failed to fulfill the agreement, leaving unpaid rent for November and December totaling $17,425.

The lawsuit also claims the landlord was forced to rent the property to a new tenant at a lower rate, seeking $15,750 in lost rental income over the remainder of the lease term. Additional charges listed in the complaint include late fees, broker fees, and legal costs.

After crediting Thompson’s $10,250 security deposit, the landlord says the total amount owed is $34,390.

Sources close to Thompson dispute the claim, telling TMZ the matter is a contractual disagreement rather than unpaid rent. The sources say Thompson never received the keys to the property and never occupied the home.

Thompson has not publicly commented on the lawsuit, and his representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
